Research centers

Numerous projects have already been realized at the Department in partnership with donors and partner institutions. These include four research centers dedicated to crucial topics, including child development, trade and globalization, health, and poverty alleviation. These centers not only have their own specific research agenda, they also include new professorships, enabling concentrated research on specific topics by proven experts.

Center for Child Well-being and Development

The Center for Child Well-being and Development is a research center at the Department of Economics of the University of Zurich. It was founded with the aim to significantly improve the situation of children in developing countries through new scientific findings. The main objective of the center is to provide high-quality research in the field of development economics in order to educate policy-makers and multilateral organizations on concrete measures and programs that improve child well-being and development.
